[Eisfair] mc 2.0.0 startet nicht unter root-Benutzer

Hallo beisammen,
mein mc 2.0.0 startet nicht unter root-Benutzer, unter normalem user problemlos.
Seit wann kann ich nicht sicher sagen, vermutlich erst seit 2.0.0.

$ mv /root/.mc /root/.mc-bkp
$ mc
[]
brachte keine Lösung, der Cursor hängt dauerhaft in der 2. Zeile.
